Font - r/offmychest u/Lovelyymia • 2d 1 1 1 My boyfriend asked me to pick him or my cat. r/ A couple of days ago we were all laying together, and I was petting my cat and he randomly asked if I had to choose him or my cat who I would pick. I've had my cat since I was 11. I'm now 21 and I've only been in a relationship with him for 5 months, so I obviously picked my cat. He left and hasn't talked to me for 3 days. I seriously don't understand. I don't know how to text him either cause I really do

Font - Lovelyymia OP. 2d Hellooo sorry, I kind of ignore questions or messages. I really didn't think this was going to get sm attention, but it did; it kind of overwhelmed me, but anyway, I'm going to answer some repeated questions I got. How are the cat and I? My cat is currently running around my living room attacking a piece of paper, so I would say he's doing okay. I gave him some extra treats. :3 I'm okay. I'm glad I have my grumpy cat with me, but it's kind of hard being alone, so I went

Font - Is he allergic to the cat, or does he dislike him? He is not allergic, but he does dislike my cat. My cat is old, grumpy, and seriously hates my boyfriend; when he's around, my cat hisses, bats, and attacks him. And yes, he has kinda pushed the idea of giving my cat to my mom because "he takes up too much space." Have I talked to him yet? Nope, not yet. I worked with him earlier, and he kept pushing me away, so I told him to stop being a baby.

Human body - Has he ever hurt my cat? No, if he has, then I never saw it. How old is he? He's 22. Those are all the questions I've seen from just scrolling, but if anyone has anymore questions, just message me :)

Font - bubbleboat0010 2d I have a bun and a boyfriend who is allergic to buns - slightly. He did not ever ask me to give her up or choose between them, because he understands that she is important to me. I do clean a lot more around my place since we see each other so that there is less fur he could inhale but that is it. Edit: Imao, I never realised it would be confusing to anyone (English is not my first and r/rabbit community uses it so much) but I'm laughing so hard on these comments that ar

Water - vivian_lake 2d My husband came with a cat, I am very allergic to cats. I did not ask him to give up his cat. I lived with her for 11 years before she sadly left us. I did ask that my husband not get another cat. We have dogs instead which I am only slightly allergic to.

Rectangle - LxTRex 2d I was in a 3 year relationship where one of the biggest issues stemmed from her fear of abandonment and being convinced I didn't actually love her/was just waiting to leave. Very very early on (like one of the first few times she was at my apartment) the conversation was about animals and I made a comment like "yea, i mean it doesn't really matter who it is, I'm not picking anyone over my cat."

Font - She was clearly hurt by the idea that I would pick my cat I'd had for years over her that I'd known for maybe a few weeks (if that). It wasn't until at least a year later that the insecurities surrounding self-worth really became prominent but I wish I'd seen that red flag for what it was at the time. OP, you found out this person has some personal issues they need to work out on their own before they can be healthy enough to be in a relationship. They want you to choose for either toxic

Rectangle - AceOfRhombus 2d Some people ask the dumbest hypothetical questions that will never happen and do not need to be asked. Making OP choose between him or the cat isn't going to reveal some secret deep truth about how OP feels about him. The reality is that OP cares for the boyfriend and cat in different ways, and he's not going to learn anything new by asking the question. The only situation I see this being real is if someone's SO had a cat allergy, but thats not the case here

Water - bees3385 2d 5 months of your life wasted on him. On the upside, time to move on and celebrate more awesome years with your cat my dear! : Reply 4275 ↓ Parking Stress3431 2d Could have been 5 years or 5 decades... she found out in a good time frame.

Font - pxpxr 2d At 5 months in, take this as a sign he is too immature to be in a serious relationship. All the money you save on him can go to your precious friend who has never asked you to choose between them and someone else. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now, my family started with 3 cats, peaked at 6, and unfortunately lost one (so 5 now). He's wasn't a cat person, but he saw how much I cared about them. When I rescued my kitten, Clementine, I could see his love for cat

Font - daisyiris 2d One of my friends chose her now husband over her ten year old cat. Her husband supposedly had allergies (he was at my home for an entire day with our cat before he saw it). As soon as he saw the cat, he started sneezing. Told me who he was. Never felt the same about either of them since. Poor cat went to a rescue. I would ditch a man or woman who insisted on that. Jealous or controlling people generally do not let stuff go. You are dodging a bullett. If you decide to move for
